Everyday input stays on your Mac
Composition, candidate selection and personal word frequency are processed locally. AIME does not send pinyin strings, candidate lists or userdb over the network, or log input contents. Optional frequency statistics stay local.
Vocabulary subscriptions use the network
Catalog retrieval, vocabulary installation and updates, and public word-list subscriptions contact their sources. Due subscriptions are checked hourly, with at least 12 hours between automatic requests per feed; manual checks may request immediately. Network services generally see the IP address, request time and resource.
These requests do not include typed text, candidate lists or personal word frequency. Disabling subscriptions does not prevent using existing local schemas.
AI handles text you explicitly choose
When you explicitly invoke polish, translation or a custom action, the target draft, selection or recently entered text is handled by your chosen model for that request, without logging it. A cloud model requires separate permission to send text.
On-device model availability depends on your device and system. A custom cloud provider has its own data handling and retention policy. AIME does not automatically fall back to the cloud.
Credentials and sync
Custom API keys are stored in a local credentials file. If you enable sync or choose a directory such as iCloud Drive, the selected service handles those files. Use directories and services you trust.
This website
This site has no account system, advertising trackers or live AI requests. Search runs in your browser; theme preference is stored in localStorage. Visits and downloads still make HTTP requests, and the hosting provider may process necessary access logs.
